Refreshed and So Clean, Clean

So this weekend was saweet. Our host family the Wilkie’s have a nice little cabin right on the Wyoming Colorado border and we booked it up there on Friday. We stayed there two nights and just chillaxed.

We got there on Friday night and started to settle in. We played a game called Phase 10 for awhile which was a lot of fun cuz I hadn’t played that before.

The next day we woke up around 8:30 and had nice big breakfast burritos. We spent the day going on hikes (one specifically), reading, napping, shoveling off the pond, napping some more, and overall just not worrying or stressing about anything. That night we went ice skating on the little pond right next to their cabin that we had swept off during the day.

The second night there we spent in the teepee. We wussed out the first night cuz it was crazy cold when we pulled in, but that night we went wild injun style and kept the fire burning in the middle all night. We roasted marshmallows for s’mores and had great conversation and even practiced a little of our dance routine. We were sleeping on the ground and there was a hole in the top of the teepee to let the smoke out but man I was snug as a bug in a rug. One of the girls we were with got cold in the night and had to go back into the cabin… haha.

The day after that we shot their shotguns in the morning. Andre had bought some clays that after a few modifications to his thrower we were able to toss relatively high and had a good time trying to shoot at those. Each day we also went out looking for deer and elk. Unfortunately the elk eluded us but we saw a fair number of deer walkin about.

This vacay came just at the right time. Staging has started to suck a little bit and we’re all ready to get the tour underway. All we do is dance and stress about dancing then stress about more stuff. All the while tryin to get to know all these new dudes and dudesses (there are about 3x as many dudesses.. so that helps, lol), but all in all we’re kind of sick of what we’re doing and wanna get started with the fun stuff.

This week has started out alright. Since our show is this Friday everybody has started to work extra hard and are getting really excited. Parts of our show are coming together nicely and it’s really a cool feeling to have all this disjointed stuff that we’ve been working on come together and look halfway dece.

Anyways, lookin forward to seein my parents this weekend, comin in for that show I’ve been talkin about… you know the one.
